3 1 Adam Klama
Here is the guide for connecting the PT\_CAN, PT\_CAN2, power, fan control, and accelerator pedal signals to the Gateway device and ECU.
4 8 Adam Klama
The main connections needed for this modifications are: **A46\*1B**, **X13\*1B**, and **Z8\*3B** connectors.
5 1 Adam Klama
This guide is based on N20/N26 engine and DME. Connections for B46/B48 and B58 may be different.

### PT\_CAN to Gateway Device:
14
15
- **PT\_CAN\_H**:
16
17
 - **Pin 28 on A46\*1B (Blue/Red wire)** should be connected to **CAN1H (Pin 10 on your Gateway device)**.
18
19
- **PT\_CAN\_L**:
20
21
 - **Pin 13 on A46\*1B (Red wire)** should be connected to **CAN1L (Pin 23 on your Gateway device)**.
22
23
### PT\_CAN2 to Gateway Device:
24
25
- **PT\_CAN2H**:
26
27
 - **Pin 43 on A46\*1B (White/Yellow wire)** should be connected to **CAN2H (Pin 11 on your Gateway device)**.
28
29
- **PT\_CAN2L**:
30
31
 - **Pin 44 on A46\*1B (White/Blue wire)** should be connected to **CAN2L (Pin 24 on your Gateway device)**.
32
33
### Power and Ignition Connections to Gateway Device:
34
35
- **KL30 (Battery Power Supply)**:
36
37
 - **Pin 1 on A46\*1B** should be connected to **KL30 IN (Pin 1 on your Gateway device)**.
38
39
- **KL15 (Ignition Supply)**:
40
41
 - **Pin 22 on A46\*1B** should be connected to **KL15IN (Pin 15 on your Gateway device)**.
42
43
### Fan Control Connections:
44
45
- **Fan Cut-Out Relay**:
46
47
 - **Pin 4 on A46\*1B** is used for the fan cut-out relay and should be controlled by the **ECU**.
48
49
- **Fan PWM Signal**:
50
51
 - **Pin 18 on A46\*1B** is the fan PWM signal and should also be controlled by the **ECU**.
52
53
### Accelerator Pedal Connections:
54
55
- The **accelerator pedal** should be connected to the **ECU** or to the **analog inputs on the Gateway device** in case you want to send throttle position over the CAN bus.
56
57
- **5V Supply for Accelerator Pedal**:
58
59
 - **Pins 7 and 24 on A46\*1B** provide the 5V supply for the accelerator pedal.
60
61
- **Ground for Accelerator Pedal**:
62
63
 - **Pins 11 and 27 on A46\*1B** are the ground connections for the accelerator pedal.
64
65
- **Signals for Accelerator Pedal**:
66
67
 - **Pins 16 and 21 on A46\*1B** are used for the two signal outputs from the accelerator pedal.
68
69
### X13\*1B Connector Connections:
70
71
- **Pin 1 and Pin 11**:
72
73
 - These pins control the **AC compressor** on the engine. Both components are controlled by the **FEM** (Front Electronic Module), and it is recommended to use the original BMW AC compressor.
74
75
- **Pin 9**:
76
77
 - This pin controls the **starter**. It is capable of driving a **2JZ starter** and is also controlled by the **FEM**.
78
79
### Z8\*3B Connector Connection:
80
81
- **KL31 (Ground)**:
82
83
 - **Pin 3 on Z8\*3B** should be used as **KL31** for the Gateway device.
84
85
- **KL15 (Ignition Supply for ECU)**:
86
87
 - **Pin 1 on Z8\*3B** should be used to control the main relay for the standalone ECU.
88
89
### Notes:
90
91
- Ensure that all connections are securely made and wires are properly insulated.
92
- For CAN signals, use twisted pairs to minimize electromagnetic interference, ensuring the integrity of communication between the vehicle and the Gateway device.
93
- Double-check all connections to prevent any miswiring that could damage components or cause malfunction.
