Notice: CANbus Module Misconfiguration Issue¶
We have identified an internal misconfiguration within the CANbus module that may lead to irregular transmissions and, in some cases, a loss of communication, particularly in high-traffic networks. This issue has been especially noticeable in systems connected to Haltech products and may also affect OEM networks.
The misconfiguration could cause the CANbus module to send messages at irregular intervals, potentially overwhelming the network and leading to communication drops. The symptoms of this issue may include delayed actions or communication faults in the receiving ECU. Specific examples include:
- BMW E9x: Switching between manual and automatic transmission modes in the DME.
- Haltech: Torque management not being performed or incorrect torque management actions.
We understand how crucial stable communication is for your setup, especially when working with performance-critical products like Haltech and OEM systems.
Good News:
The issue has already been fixed and thoroughly tested. The solution will be included in the next firmware update, which will be available soon.
Recommendations:
Until the firmware update is officially released, a release candidate version of the firmware is now available, and I am happy to provide it to any user who contacts me directly.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thanks for your continued support!
